Acceptable Use Policy

Purpose and scope

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every account, every person you invite, every website you build or host with us, and every feature you turn on for your visitors. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms.

You are responsible for making sure your team, your contractors, and anyone using your account follows this Policy. If we use a general word like “harassment” or “fraud,” we mean it in its ordinary sense, and the examples we give are illustrations rather than a complete list.

Lawful business use

Use the Service only for lawful business or organizational purposes. Your content, offers, prices, promises, and customer relationships must comply with the laws and industry rules that apply where you operate and where your customers are.

Do not use the Service to help someone else do something this Policy prohibits, and do not use it to evade a suspension, a ban, a court order, or a platform restriction imposed on you or anyone else.

Security and platform integrity

Do not:

• distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or malicious scripts, or host files intended to compromise a device;
• run phishing pages, fake sign-in screens, or credential-harvesting forms;
• probe, scan, or test the security of the Service or any other system without our prior written permission;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, site, database, network, or data;
• overload, flood, or degrade the Service, or take part in a denial-of-service attack;
• evade rate limits, quotas, entitlements, moderation, or the platform attribution required on Free-plan sites;
• create multiple accounts to work around Free-plan limits, a suspension, or a payment obligation;
• mine cryptocurrency, run distributed computing workloads, or operate proxies, VPN exits, or anonymizing relays; or
• use bots, scrapers, or automated tools against the Service in a way that is abusive, deceptive, or not supported by our documented interfaces.

Harmful, deceptive, and abusive activity

Do not use the Service for:

• fraud, deceptive business practices, or false claims about who you are, what you sell, or your qualifications;
• impersonating a person, business, or government body, or falsely suggesting affiliation or endorsement;
• pyramid schemes, chain marketing, fake investment offers, or other scams;
• spam, deceptive links, cloaking, doorway pages, or manipulating search results;
• harassment, stalking, bullying, threats, or incitement of violence;
• hate speech or content that dehumanizes people based on a protected characteristic;
• sexual exploitation of any kind, and in particular any material that sexualizes minors, which we report to the authorities;
• non-consensual intimate imagery, or publishing private information about a person without permission;
• human trafficking, forced labor, or the sale of people or organs;
• content that promotes self-harm, disordered eating, or suicide; or
• fabricated reviews, testimonials, endorsements, or engagement, whether written by you, purchased, or generated.

Illegal and regulated activity

What you offer must be lawful where you operate and where your customers are, and you must hold every license, permit, registration, and bond your activity requires. Do not use a general website feature to work around licensing, age, location, disclosure, recordkeeping, payment, or advertising rules.

Regulated categories, including alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, cannabis and hemp-derived products, firearms and ammunition, weapons, explosives, gambling and sweepstakes, adult content, pharmaceuticals and telehealth, supplements with health claims, lending, debt relief, credit repair, investment and cryptocurrency offerings, immigration services, and multi-level marketing, are permitted only where they are lawful, where you hold the required authorizations, and where you apply the controls the law requires. They also remain subject to the rules of our providers, including our payment processor.

We may decline, restrict, or discontinue support for any category of activity at our discretion, including a lawful one, when it creates unacceptable legal, security, provider, or reputational risk.

Industry templates and starter policies are organizational tools. They are not permission to conduct regulated activity and are not evidence that your site complies with any requirement.

Messaging and marketing

Use email, notification, review-request, and similar features only to contact people who have a lawful basis to hear from you and, where required, who have given consent. Do not upload purchased, scraped, or rented contact lists.

Every marketing message must identify you accurately, avoid deceptive subject lines or headers, include a working unsubscribe mechanism where required, and honor opt-out requests promptly. Follow the CAN-SPAM Act, telemarketing and text-messaging rules, and equivalent state laws.

Do not use forms, review requests, booking confirmations, or transactional notifications as a channel for unrelated marketing or spam, and do not submit spam through another customer’s forms.

Intellectual property and privacy

Publish only material you own or have permission to use, including text, images, video, audio, fonts, logos, and code. Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets, and do not violate a person’s privacy or publicity rights.

Do not collect personal information without appropriate notice and, where required, consent, and do not use the Service to build profiles of people who have not agreed to it. Copyright complaints are handled under our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

Restricted information

Do not collect, store, or process restricted information through the Service unless we have agreed in writing that we support your specific use. The Terms of Service list the categories, which include full payment-card numbers and security codes, government identifiers, protected health information, biometric identifiers, financial account credentials, and information regulated by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, FERPA, or ITAR.

Children

Do not build an experience directed to children under 13, and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, unless we have approved that use in writing and the legally required protections are in place. An age gate or age prompt on its own does not satisfy the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act or similar laws.

Fair use of platform resources

Storage, bandwidth, form submissions, transactions, AI credits, and other resources are provided for the normal operation of a business website on your plan. Do not use the Service as a general file host, content delivery network, backup target, media library for sites hosted elsewhere, or link shortener.

We may throttle, queue, or limit activity that consumes a disproportionate share of resources, threatens stability, or looks automated and abusive, even when a plan quota has not been reached.

Enforcement

When we receive a report or detect a problem, we may investigate, preserve evidence, ask you for information, and take action. Depending on the situation we may warn you, remove or restrict specific content, disable a feature, unpublish or suspend a site, restrict or suspend an account, terminate the agreement, or report the matter to law enforcement or another authority.

We choose a proportionate response based on severity, potential harm, whether the conduct appears intentional, your history, and whether a narrower measure would work. Serious cases, including anything that endangers people, involves child sexual abuse material, or threatens the security of the Service, may be acted on immediately and without prior notice.

Site-level moderation is separate from account status, so we can restrict one website without suspending an entire account. Enforcement does not entitle you to a refund, and it does not limit any other remedy available to us.

Reporting a violation

Report suspected violations through our Report Abuse page. Include the exact URL, what you observed, and enough detail for us to review it. We may contact you for more information and may share the substance of a report with the account holder when that is appropriate.
